Microsoft MS-DOS 2.11 [Visual Commuter OEM r1.9]
Released in 1985 by Visual Technology, Incorporated / Microsoft
For Visual Commuter computers
Image quality: Unmodified
This is the release of MS-DOS provided with Visual Commuter portable
computers.
The Visual Commuter was among the early IBM hardware compatible
computers.
It was the first portable IBM-compatible computer with an LCD
display, showing 16 (later 24) lines of text. It could also use an
external monitor, and had very good IBM compatibility.
Note: This version of DOS will run on IBM PCs and emulators, however
it lacks the "55 AA" signature in the boot sector, so some later PCs
and emulators may not boot it.
This archive includes one 5.25" 360k floppy disk image and one 160k
disk image plus a 140k Apple II image.
Archive also includes the Commuter Operators Guide, MS-DOS manual,
Basic Manual, Maintenance Manual with schematics, and SMT No-Slot
clock drivers.
