Lotus Jazz 1.0a for Macintosh
Released in 1986 by Lotus Development Corp
For Apple Macintosh Plus
Image quality: Used
Lotus Jazz was a heavily marketed all-in-one integrated office suite
that included a word processor, spreadsheet, graphing, database, and
communications program. Jazz was targeted as a universal solution for
all office workers. Although at release, the program was exclusively
for the Apple Macintosh 512k. Despite the marketing effort, it
flopped miserably. Although it was from Lotus, the spreadsheet was
not related to Lotus 1-2-3.
Lotus Jazz motivated Microsoft to purchase Mouseworks that became
Microsoft Works.
These images are from a used set of disks. Presumably they came
together, so a Mac 512k would continue to use 1.0, while the Mac Plus
would use 1.0a, and they would share the same startup and primer
disk.
The 1.0 program disk is copy protected, while the 1.0a program disk
appears to not be copy protected.
Important: The 1.0 program disk is copy protected. To create usable
disk images, you must create floppy disks with the provided Kryoflux,
SuperCard Pro, or Transcopy images.
Protection type: Intentionally bad CRC on track 11, sector 0.
Archive includes four 3.5" macintosh formatted floppy disks. Three are
single sided 400k and one is double sided 800k.
