Re: What Operating System do you use at office

Considering the limitations of 64 bit Windows actually my dad at work moved from xp just last year, he now has Windows 7 32bit. It's the medical software he uses actually that is 16bit and just got an update (or a software rewrite, in fact) last year, that's why. Besides, I don't know anyone in the ...

Re: Does Blackcomb build 2698 exist?

Hmmmm... Reminds me of the Longhorn 4057 private build, which turned out to be fake in the end (thanks for ReflectiaX for clearing it up), which was made by Utaks IIRC. Since it has the same weird angle, and being displayed on an LCD screen, I think this is also the same case, as tbh only a small im...

You have to install a graphics driver to get the banner as it is shown in the second picture. Hummm, I don't have any drivers on my hand, I remember I have a few old graphics driver for Windows 98 and it probably won't work. If you have any Windows 2000 or Neptune drivers, please send it to me. Tha...

But POSReady 2009 ≠ XP, POSReady is used for embedded systems, and this case (why though?) they use plain old XP.

Re: Where is Windows XP still used as of December 2018?

In my heart *hehe* . No really now, my school still uses Windows XP on the elementary class computers with a dualboot alongside Windows 7, since most of the software they use is incompatible with anything after Windows XP. Other computers in the school though, almost all of them run Windows 7 (inter...

Re: Office 2003 RTM inside Win98

Most office releases just drop support for some OSes even though they are fully compatible, I think you can install Office 2010 x64 on Windows XP x64 IIRC, and I've seen Office 2013 running on Windows XP. It's just MS Policy to block Office installations on older OSes just to force users to upgrade ...

Based on the extensive research that I've done in the past regarding Omega-13 builds, this may be 5060.vbl_wcp_avalon.050417-1805 . It has a taskbar identical to 5048 and features the new Aero. Besides, being shown in a presentation about WDDM suggests that this particular build was used to demonstr...

But the problem is that I am doing all this just to get VMware Tools, since the broken Windows Installer included with 2462 is useless. :(

Windows XP Beta 2 doesn't work

I am trying to upgrade to Windows XP build 2462 over from Windows 2000 in VMware. It installed fine but upon bootup it always BSoDs at the "Welcome" Screen. Isn't there an anti-brony rule back in 2016? I believe that is still active AFAIK.
I hope this is not considered as backseat moderating since I'm only asking a question.

Very capable emulator! I was able to install 98SE flawlessly and even the speed was acceptable in reverse mode. (which is way better than 86box itself)

BTW, I don't think those starter editions are rare enough, also you need a key to install, without a key it won't let you pass. They are so bad that you can't even install it on 86Box, PCem, VirtualBox, VMware or Microsoft VPC, you can only install it on a physical machine with less than 512 MB RAM...

Didn't Office 95 have a gradient on Windows 95? I understood the question to be "I know some Win95 applications draw gradient title bars, so is this a built-in capability of Windows 95?". The answer is "no". If your Win95 app wants a gradient title bar, it must draw it by itself, just like Office 9...
