Re: Windows Home Server VM is a Go!

I am going to assume you are installing 2011. 2011 is based on server 2008R2/Win7 ala nt6.1 not NT6.0 (Vista/Server2008R1). As for your question about it being a pain, yes and no. You just need to be a pain back! He's using the original Home Server based of nt 6.0, which was just called Home Server...

Re: Windows Home Server VM is a No-Go

I've been trying to run the OG Home Server as a virtual machine under Server 2012 R2 and it's not playing nicely. Under the built-in HyperV it gave me an error stating that "Home Server requires at least 60GB of space" and just refused to install. I've tried adjusting the virtual hard drive up to 1...

Re: Disabled Timebombs in Windows 2000 Pre-Release Builds

AFAIK the timebomb in these builds depends on install date, for example if a build has a 180 day timebomb it will expire 180 days after installation date (say 180 days from now if you have time snyc enabled).

I hope I will soon, however I can't really determine that right now (I have exams exactly one week from now so I'll try to scan it before then).

[OFFER] VB 5.0 Learning Edition

I've just found this at a relative of mine, and it's in quite good condition. It's the full boxed set, and IIRC VB 5 is rare. Do I scan it and upload it to the ftp(at least the disks)? And for how much does this sell for(if I wanted to)? Some quick pics: https://www.betaarchive.com/imageupload/2019-...

Re: Best software to run Longhorn

You clearly have not run it. Looking here: https://www.betaarchive.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=38747 Because you ran vmware 14 and its compatibilty mode grouped the two as one, you think the two are the same? No they are not. 7.1 is far more versatile for Longhorn than 6.5. It is also more compa...

Re: Best software to run Longhorn

Vmware 7.1 is optimal. It can handle DCE of m3 with the 6.5.x compatibility setting and 6.5.x drivers, and the DCE of m4-m7 with hounsell's driver kit. After application of disable hardware check regedit dword, DWM of post reset builds will also function with it. I disagree, you can't get m3 DCE wi...

VMware 6.5.x range of course, or else you might not get graphical effects. And no, don't use VPC2007.

I'm looking for Winsock 2.0's SDK. It was previously hosted on the M$ FTP and M$ website. The M$ FTP archive from IA is not loading (because of large file size) and all the links on M$ website are dead, even as the first capture around January 17, 1999. You could just use this MS FTP mirror, it wor...

2. Is there a way to ignore the certificate errors that Firefox has? After that set the current date and boot, certificate erro...

I think once Windows 7 hits eol, I'll probably do nothing. The thing is I just installed Windows 7 on ALL my machines considering they ran 10 at first, but the continuous issues I've faced: Bandwidtg hogging, tracking, program compatibility, degradaded performance, MS crap/bloatware, screen failure ...
