Re: Why is Longhorn 4057.private/lab06_dev_ux.031107-1900 fa

Well yeah, it could look either fake or real, and if it's a fake it's a well done one lol. There are a few things that bother me anyway: if you take a deep look at the preview pane, you can clearly see that the background should be the animated aurora one, the one that gets activated when you selec...

Re: Why is Longhorn 4057.private/lab06_dev_ux.031107-1900 fa

1. But again, this exact lab is where these changes should have been made. Judging by being in lab06 and "ux" in build tag, it's just impossible that they didn't have the latest explorer.exe version 2. WMP logo can be missing colours "due to glare," as you stated. Show me the icon you think this is...

Re: Why is Longhorn 4057.private/lab06_dev_ux.031107-1900 fa

Let me break this up into several portions: ... The photo claims to be from lab06 build and as we all know, it's the UI (or Desktop) lab. Can you tell me, how an element of UI can be outdated in a build created by a lab who was taking care of redesigning? It's even more doubtful if you look at the e...

Re: Why is Longhorn 4057.private/lab06_dev_ux.031107-1900 fa

So you suggest you can't just make a full-screen fake, show it on the screen and make a photo from specific angle? I don't understand why would someone waste his time and do that. If you think this is fake, prove it. Even if the start button has the word "Start", since the removal of "Start" was in...

So many freaking kids here. People born like 3-5 years after I was already 5 in 2000. You mean I am a kid? I was born in 2004 so does it matter that much ! 8-) Essentially you have to be legally treated like a child or a minor, etc. There's lots of things I can't share with you, talk to you about, ...

Re: Is this screenshot real? (Windows Vista Build 5226)

https://betawiki.net/wiki/Windows_Vista_build_5226 You should check BetaWiki . All I can see is that “beta 2” do not appear in the page... Going back to the list, 5226 is listed in “Pre-Beta 2 Fork” section, that is not yet beta 2. Who said this is beta 2? TCB only lists leaked (or at least confirm...

Why is Longhorn 4057.private/lab06_dev_ux.031107-1900 fake?

I recently found a photo of this build which actually looks realistic, but I'm not sure. https://www.betaarchive.com/imageupload/2018-08/1535487719.th.38901.jpg It appears to have aero similar to 4074, and a background that I've never seen before(?). Actually, I am not entirely sure of the build num...

Re: Is this screenshot real? (Windows Vista Build 5226)

Actually, I think this screenshot is from that channel9 video. Can anyone who actually watched that video verify that? My primary source for the builds is The Collection Book, and as I can read on the screenshot it is beta 2 build 5226 that do not exist on TCB, check yourself at https://www.thecolle...

Is this screenshot real? (Windows Vista Build 5226)

I recently found this screenshot of 5226.vbl_wcp_avalon_dev.050908-1459 (Windows Vista Build 5226). This build is claimed not to be seen except in a channel9 video. Is this one real?

What happened to the WinUnleaked blog?

In the past, the site was WinUnleaked.tk and used to post Windows 8 :beta: screenshots. The domain later changed to WinUnleaked.info and then the creator's twitter account was closed and the website used to redirect to microsoft.com . Now WinUnleaked.info no longer exists and WinUnleaked.tk redirect...

Re: How does one secure Windows XP?

You can compute a checksum to verify the image hasn't been modified. You are right about 3rd party drivers though - XP is now 17 years old, and most manufacturers have scrubbed related support documentation, meaning external sources are sometimes the only option. Anyone looking for drivers should c...

Re: [OFFER] The (Ultimate?) VMware Drivers Pack for Longhorn

I've discovered that thin print causes problems during the vmware setup. In 3718 installation causes an invalid entry point in rundll32 (which can be simply avoided by just cancelling the window that says it has caused an invalid entry). Build 4042 refuses to install the thin print drivers by freezi...
