Re: Another Windows XP login screen image

Probably a mockup, since it's not used in any of leaked builds (I'm pretty sure since I've watched many videos of testing Whistler builds).

I don't think there would be a pre-reset build compiled AFTER the reset.

Re: Windows 8 is a underrated OS.

Sorry if I already stated this before, but in Windows 8.0... You can get to the start menu without the use of the charms bar or the windows key. You need to go to the place where the start button would be and hover there and wait for the start thumbnail to pop up, then click. It's difficult for peo...

Re: Windows 7 build 6469 product key problem

I probably did set it wrong, BetaWiki's date system is different than the DD-MM-YYYY system. If not that then it's probably because I actually set the date in the setup so, yeah. VBox doesn't really have a good BIOS date setting up system. Use VMWare. Another way to change the date in VirtualBox to...

Re: "Windows XP Freestyle" inside Windows XP classic start m

How do you normally port DLLs? I hope you don't just replace them... Enderman tried Windows XP's explorer.exe on Windows 10 and the Start menu doesn't display correctly. How did you make the Start menu display correctly if Windows 10 doesn't have a Classic theme? Windows XP's explorer on Windows 10...

Re: Windows 8 is a underrated OS.

I think Windows 8 was the pinnacle of efficiency for the OS..they wanted it to run on lower end tablets as well so they pushed it even further then Windows 7. As far as what I noticed, with the jump to Vista's architecture causing the much higher system requirements, each version of Windows after i...

Re: "Windows XP Freestyle" inside Windows XP classic start m

How did you get the start menu working? All I can get is a buggy, completely empty menu Port UxTheme (UxTheme.dll) over to Windows 10. If you want to actually use Windows XP's explorer, you need to port the whole shell over which requires a lot of work. That doesn't sound like it would be very stab...

Re: Windows Phone 8.1 Store shut down on December 16, 2019

You shouldn't stick with Windows Phone 8.1 if the Store shut down. It's recommended to switch to Android or iOS. Why would you pick iOS, though? Windows Store shutdown shows it's fate quite succinctly: iPhones would become unusable sooner or later - and, most likely, long before hardware itself wou...

If you install VMware Tools, it should work just fine both ways Now with Windows 95, you really should emulate that in 86-Box, not VMware. What are you talking about? Win9x Vmware additions don't have file sharing feature. Them never had it. So far only Insignia, Win4lin and Connectix(MS) virtualiz...

Re: Issue installing VMWare Tools on XP/Whistler 2428

Only to use shared folder? You can download PowerISO or UltraISO to create an ISO file with your stuff, then mount it to Whistler VM and get files to the VM. Issue here is I can't move files from the VM to the ISO (afaik), and, again, VMWare tools needs installer 3.0, putting that on an ISO throws ...
