Re: Windows 10 Sucks

Your views on Windows 10 are far from isolated or unique. You should consider installing Windows 8.1 if Windows 10 makes you this angry, or consider the many privacy-enhancing tools found across the web. Personally, I'd just install a Linux distro, but that might not be ideal for you.

Re: Windows 95 title bars

Yeah, still it is possible in Win95 to draw it. web.archive.org/web/19980415083048/http://www.cetussoft.com:80/cwordpad.zip Here is a link to the app which has such feature. Pretty much any OS can draw a gradient to the screen, but if the code isn't there in the shell, then there's just not gonna b...

Scattered version numbers happen all the time. It's the same mspaint program. You'll find some DLLs in, say, Vista with Longhorn build numbers, and so on. It's pretty insignificant.

In XP, if you use the Classic setup option, this bitmap appears before the setup wizard comes up.

You should never install VMAdditions onto a beta build of Windows. There are many driver packs out there that you can use.

It was taken down because of copyright issues with Nintendo. The creator stole sprites from Mario and the like.

Re: VboxGuest Additions on Windows NT 5.0

You could try the VBEMP Windows NT drivers. They are a universal VESA driver, much like what Windows XP includes. Works from NT 3.5 up to Windows Server 2003. (May work on NT 3.1, I personally haven't gotten it to work.) Also, I would suggest you use Virtual PC 2007 or VMware. They are much easier t...

Re: Could some computers have been shipped with Whistler?

Ok so I found the link. I guess it wasn't pre-installed on the computer, but some update had added 'Whistler Personal Edition' to boot.ini somehow (it's been a while since I read that post, I don't even remember how I found it). Here's the link: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/25327-45-whistler-p...

I'm sorry, but this thread is just hilarious. So much of a sh*tstorm over a rule (that isn't going to work, by the way). Some of you fail to realize that this is the internet. Popular trends are going to be popular trends on here, as abnormal as they are, you aren't going to stop it. I honestly don'...

well, don't do it on VMware, it causes that error, but it works fine under qemu 1.2.2.
I have no interest on switching outside of VMware (in fact, you and I even had a FB discussion on this).

VMware, NT5 and SVGA

oh hey i've made my return wow Okay, so I've been installing builds like crazy. Longhorn, NT5, Whistler, you name it. I've relied on Hounsell's driver pack for the SVGA drivers, but under NT4 and early NT5 builds, it causes a bluescreen on startup. How can I get these drivers to work under these bu...
