Re: Updating Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs

Yes, I have. Even on legacy OSes like Windows XP which is what Windows FLP is based on. However Windows/Microsoft Update works fine on XP, but not on FLP.

[REQUEST] Internet Security and Acceleration Server 2000

Does anyone have the Standard and Enterprise Editions of this software in English on an MSDN or Action Pack disc? If so, could you please upload them to the FTP Server.

Re: [REQUEST] BizTalk Server 2000

That might be BizTalk Server 2000. I think Microsoft never added a version number to their first version of BizTalk Server and only retroactively named it "BizTalk Server 2000" after they released the next one in 2002. Can you please dump it to the FTP if possible?

[REQUEST] BizTalk Server 2000

Unfortunately, the earliest edition of BizTalk available on MSDN is 2002. 2000 was the first version released and I cannot seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone have this on an MSDN, Action Pack, or some other disc?

Hey, AeroFusion, I know this is a late response, but do you still want me to dump Live Communications Server 2003? I have it from one of my Microsoft Action Packs.

Windows NT 4.0 Updates

Was Windows NT 4.0 updated only using service packs? I know that Microsoft released Windows update for NT 4.0, but that obviously has since been decommissioned. I am just wondering that if I want to update it, is it just Service Packs or are there individual hotfixes that were also made available th...

Updating Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs

I have Windows FLP running in a VM. I have installed SP3 and IE8 on it and cannot seem to get Microsoft/Windows Update to work. Does anyone know a fix for this issue?

Actually, I think it does not need a key. If it does, I think a Windows 2000 Advanced Server or Datacenter Server key will work.

Actually you can download Service Pack 3 from the Microsoft Update Catalog. Here is the link: https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.co ... (KB936929).

Re: Windows Datacenter Server Limited Edition and more

You can get this from https://the-eye.eu/public/MSDN/Windows%20Advanced%20Server/. It is also available from MSDN if you have a subscription. No key is included. You will have to find that yourself, assuming one is required. (P.S. For the record, I am not condoning piracy by posting this link. This ...

Re: Windows XP Activation After End-Of-Life

Activation will still work after End-of-Life for Windows XP. For the x86_64 (64-bit) version of Windows XP Professional, I would go with the volume license version if I were you as the keys are plentiful on the internet and there is no online activation that you have to go through and there is no WG...

Re: Social: How did you find Beta Archive?

I found a video on YouTube called "Windows Millennium Build 3294". I was wondering on how the uploader got it as I had build 2380, but not 2394, so I asked him and he responded "BetaArchive's FTP Servers". A simple Google search led me here.

Re: Why Windows XP isn't named as 2001 in the first place?

At the end of the day, who knows, except for those that worked at Microsoft when the name was made. Microsoft sure has an interesting way of counting to 10; 3.1, 3.5, 3.51, 4.0, 2000, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10. If you are wondering where 95, 98, and ME are, I am just counting the NT lineup.

Re: Why Windows XP isn't named as 2001 in the first place?

Maybe it was to bring it in line with Office XP's name. XP is supposed to stand for "eXPerience" and I think Microsoft wanted to streamline the product names. Although, they did change it up when they released Office 2003.

Re: How does one secure Windows XP?

Virtualizing it is probably the best way. Also, it is absolutely imperative that you install the latest updates. After that, disconnect the virtual machine from the internet. You should also uninstall any features and/or software on the computer that is not absolutely necessary for it to function to...

We could make a new forum for Linux distros. We wouldn't have to archive them as I think most are freely available from the maker of the distro.

Two-Factor Authentication Support

Is the staff at BA considering implementing Two-Factor Authentication for logging into the forums? This would be very nice, especially since someone can misuse your FTP server credentials if they maliciously get access to your forum account.
