Re: Problems with Windows 95 on Virtualbox

You just need to disable Intel VT-x in your Virtualbox VM. Works fine after that, although I do recommend that you use 86-Box or PCem instead.

Re: Windows 95 on VM

How about using 86-Box? After getting it initially set up it's usually smooth sailing from there.

What are the specs of your machine?

My feedback on the new update

Alright. I have a few problems with this update. -Inconsistency between the home page and the forum page (something to note; doesn’t necessarily need to be updated). -I can’t view the last poster in each board from the board index. -I can’t view who started the topic on my phone without going into t...

Re: Windows 95 DESERVED a Full Retail CD-ROM edition!

ok, but at the time how many inexperienced people bought a PC ?! almost none ... both for the price and for the difficulty of use. Not really. In 1995 PCs weren't as insanely expensive as they used to be for most of the 80s, and application software had a certain level of user-friendliness. My gran...

Re: Windows 95 DESERVED a Full Retail CD-ROM edition!

I could’ve sworn I saw it on some YouTube video...

Sad thing is, YouTube doesn’t save search history for seven and a half years.

It only saves it for about six months.

Re: Windows 95 DESERVED a Full Retail CD-ROM edition!

I thought Windows 95 RTM got sold as an upgrade package AND a full retail package. Both having either floppies or a CD-ROM.

I have set my status to be hidden in the UCP yet it still shows up at the bottom of the page. What’s happening?

Re: Full 32 bit color in Windows Nashville (VMware)

Use 86-Box for anything pre-98. Windows Nashville has known issues with VMware. If you want higher res or color depth in VMware you could install the VBEMP driver for 9x but it’s not guaranteed to work.

Not sure if 86-Box would work on WINE but if it does and it runs >90% I’d say go for it.

Re: Is Windows pre 3.x still being used anywhere?

Windows 2.x is probably one of the most unpopular versions of Windows. Not hated, but just installed and used the least. Windows 3.0 is one of those versions that is kind of unpopular, but it’s definitely more popular than 2.x.

Re: Good PC build to run Whistler/Longhorn?

Thinkpad T23. Great laptop. Very reliable. Sat out in a garage for 5 years (idk why it was out there) and i brought it inside, plugged it in, hit the power button and it turned on. Booted up to Windows XP without a problem. Works great with XP, just takes a little bit to load Firefox 43. Other than ...

I think DP2 would only run on a beige g3 or an early blue and white.
