Re: Site update (forum upgrade finally!)

Wow! This is just... wow! I quite like this new theme :) but I'm sure going to miss the old BA layout. It'll take me a while to get used to it, though. The only downside is the ranks, such as the ones saying "Administrator", "Staff", "FTP Access", etc. The background is still white on those rank im...

Depending on the workload, some workloads prefer higher clocks, MySQL/MariaDB/MSSQL works better with clock speed.

Re: my new server ?!

Yeah, I would have to agree with Gnome on that. Using a cloud solution is sometimes the way to go without the hard work of a physical server. You could also try renting a VPS , which are less expensive and more effective. Although sometimes physical servers are better in cases like this one. Compar...

Re: my new server ?!

It's free for my clients. Just a backup solution if their computers crash or hdd's die and so on. The problem is with tx150 s7.. It's old and weak. Removed one stick of faulty ram. So right now it only has 4 gb ram, for now its stable. Need to change to another server asap. just go for an actual cl...

Re: my new server ?!

Ok lets step back a few steps, i'm assuming these are paying "clients"? if so, you really want to be picking newer hardware specced out for the job of HA. Realistically those two machines you have chosen are not only old, chug power, generate a lot of heat but have no redundant psu's. Get a DL380e G...

Probably due to the HTTPS encryption being too new for IE6/8 would be my guess anyway.

"FTP Access status is required to post in this forum." That'll be why, for one reason or another you've not got FTP access anymore.

Re: Really weird GPU server idea

You can do it with QEmu (a type-2 hypervisor) on Linux: https://blog.zerosector.io/2018/07/28/kvm-qemu-windows-10-gpu-passthrough/ So theoretically it should be possible on Windows as well. Maybe at some point with haxm+virtualbox...? *sighs*... I absolutely dream of using Linux on my server, but a...

Re: Really weird GPU server idea

virtualization software offers a LIMITED amount of GPU integration AT BEST. VMware has the "vmware graphics adapter" or something, and Microsoft similarly has "Microsoft virtual additions driver" (okay, I don't remember the exact device names, but you get the idea). This is wrong, you can pass PCIe...

Re: Really weird GPU server idea

TL;DR please?

From the little snippets i've read you'd be better off grabbint vmware esxi, some expensive quadro card and properly virtualising graphics with harware acceleration/pass-through (just like what i do on my homelab)

I've found one of my databases would hang due to a slight corruption on one of the tables, had to delete that table and re-make to get things working properly again. This was when i migrated from mysql to maria.
