Windows:Visual Styles

From BetaArchive Wiki

Visual Styles contain graphics, measurements and other properties, which are used to modify the look and behaviour of the Windows UI.

The concept of Visual Styles came up in early Whistler builds, which started to use themes rendered with graphics instead of the hardcoded, pure shellstyle, which is known as "Windows Classic" or "Windows Default" now. In history of Windows, many Visual Styles were developed, of these many didn't find their way into final releases.
