I remember I installed a UK version of 2003 and IIRC I didn't hear that sound, I heard the Windows XP startup sound. I think it's fake.

Yes, I know that vid. It makes the same sound at the end plus some extra bits at the beginning and the animation itself of course. I also recall seeing a video of a Server 2003 machine starting up that had that sound about 2 years ago, but I don't know where it is.tariqm wrote:AFAIK, it was ripped from this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44WeDtVOrns

That sound is part of an animation made by microsoft to advertise Windows Server 2k3

Definitely not the startup sound. Looking at all sounds Microsoft made this would be a very weird choice, particularly when it's only for the UK market... It could be really from Microsoft (as poster above says, from an animation) but definitely not the real boot sound.
Long live Windows XP!

It could lead very well to conclusion that the UK startup sound is fake, just like the sounds claiming to be in Longhorn, and the startup/shutdown sounds that were thought to exist in Whistler...Homers wrote:Definitely not the startup sound. or does anyone have it in original form (the sound)?
