I have this archive that I found and added to over the past while that I thought may be of interest to some people here! Its a huge archive but that's what the purpose of BetaArchive is for! If anyone is interested and I am approved to add this to the FTP I'll upload the entire thing. There are a few SDK versions already on the FTP (4 I think).
Anyway, take a look at the list I made since it would be to long to post. I couldn't see any way to upload a .txt or .nfo file I made. Sorry about the long post because of it. Maybe I'll make an image.
Please upload this! I've not had much luck in finding these elsewhere.

Can I just add them by drag and drop to the FTP? I haven't uploaded anything in such a long time and cant really remember how to do it.
First create your upload folder by going to the FTP server page and clicking update permissions. Then pack it up and drag it to the upload folder in the root of the FTP.
How big is this thing? If it is very large, multipart archives work just fine.

It's pretty big. Around 92GB in total.
Windows OS wrote:OK. I hope you can upload these. I am very curious to see the contents of these files (especially the dashboard builds).
I'll start the upload as soon as I can. I'll let you know once I've got them going.
I was looking to see if there is anyone here who is familiar with programming or PowerPC. I'm NOT asking for anyone to do any magic for me I am just curious if this is possible, or if anyone can break down the process of how a rom is loaded from disk on a powermac G5.. I guess what I want to do is convert this to a bootable iso if at all possible. I was doing some reading on how open firmware works, Looks like an HFS partition needs to be created? I believe it was called xeboot or something.
Anyways I was interested in finding software recovery for a Xenon Alpha kit which was an Xbox 360 alpha, there are other posts regarding this. I have found a remote recovery which installs and updates the machine. but unfortunately you need to have a running version in order to use it. Now at this stage I haven't been able to find those recoveries disks and not even sure if one exists. I did some poking around and noticed the exe for the remote recovery might contain all the files that is needed to boot into the Xenon Launcher Menu... if you extract the exe the file contents are as follows...
one the left are the folders... the right is file contents..
XBOX - Xapi.dll
xbdm.dll
XSHELL - banks
data
images
media
sounds
default.exe
each folder contains some files and I am curious...would it be possible to load this via a disk? what is required to load a rom? I am curious what process the machine goes through.
from what I read on an installed unit there is a xeboot partition? and the rom gets elf loaded? hoping some experts have any insight on this topic, It would be interesting if someone could get this loaded via disk or understands how this machine would normally boot with the launcher installed.
mrpijey wrote:I have this pack myself but I've had no idea how to sort it or even identify everything to see if it's proper for BA...
Hmmm, I didn't think about that. I don't have a clue how to verify these since I don't have actual developer access to the Xbox 360 site. I may need to stop what I've done so far in case they aren't packaged right.

I've never seen any alpha builds out there unfortunately. I have seen many people asking for them with no luck. They usually end up taking a dump from another alpha to flash to theirs in order to recover. If I ever find one I'll be sure to let you know.

Coming from a programmer. Your best bet is to start off with a 360 XDK machine. They are made to boot custom kernels and recovery ISO images such as these here.
A powermac G5 would never be able to even attempt to execute such code.

Well if you read a little bit before you posted you would know that the remote recovery that I have is in fact for a Powermac G5, Which was an Alpha Unit not a Dev unit. it was still and XDK in alpha stage. All recoveries currently available are for XeDK and up.
So I'm assuming you are not too familiar with Xbox software, or specifically how the open firmware boot process works to load a rom. that was my question.

Ok, I have everything in the upload folder now. What do I do next to get it into the right folder for everyone else to see it?
And what exactly do you suppose I should do with this? Just dumping a set of files onto the FTP with random names and not properly pre-processed will make it quickly go into the "sort it later or never" drive... I have no idea what all this is, how it's to be sorted, how it's going to be tagged, what year it comes from or if it's even valid for release... so yeah, not much I can do with it at this point. There's a reason why I ask members to properly name and tag their releases before upload...
I've had this whole set myself for quite some time now, and it hasn't been processed or added to the FTP for the same reason...
mrpijey, would you have any information on the Xenon Alpha Recoveries? I have a remote recovery I would like to upload but am unsure if its already on the ftp.
