[OFFER] Lots of old MSDN CDs

Post by vintroxx »

Hi! I have a bunch of old CDs from MSDN - I think they're from around 1997 to 2001. You might already have all of these, but I have 2 binders full of original media and 1 with only copies. (You'd probably only want the original media though.)

I also have Windows 98 SE2 (I think this is an OEM disk).

If anyone's interested, I can post the full list of all the disks I have - I'd be willing to upload any of these.

Most definitely interested!!! :)
If you can provide a list of the MSDN CDs and their dates, that'd be great.

What we need are the date and disc IDs of each disc (for example "2002-08 - 1741.0 - Microsoft Commerce Server 2002 Developer [French]"), since many titles were re-released during different dates and sets. Only then can we compare it to what we already got. Each MSDN disc should have a date and ID.

I can find the dates, but none of these seem to have a disc ID... However, they do have part numbers (like X06-06819), is this what you need?

No, the part numbers won't do as we don't keep track of that. Well, if none of your discs has these IDs then we most likely don't have many of them. Would it be possible for you to snap a quick photo of some of the discs just to see what the discs look like?

Sure! They all look about like this one here (some have some extra icons/text and such but this is the layout all of them use): Image

Hopefully that should help you out!

Yeah it helped a lot. That one has a date, which we also use. "Development Platform, 2000-10 - Microsoft SDKs and Tools, Disc 2"

In our archives: 2000-10 - 02 - Microsoft SDKs and Tools

It would be great if you could dump these to MDS/MDF and scan them as I believe you got discs we need better copies of.

Okay, I'll try to get as many of these dumped as I can this weekend - I don't have a scanner though, do camera pictures work?

EDIT: I've tried to do a dump of one, but it didn't work and I realized a bunch of these are scratched up badly... (The one I had read issues on was WinMe Beta 3, but I saw bad scratches on the SDKs and Tools disk as well - some look in good condition though...)

A shame you don't have a scanner since we badly need scans too, but photos will have to do then... try to make them as sharp as possible and without an angle.

I'll take the physical copies if you want to get rid of them. I have a good scanner so I would be able to scan them for you as well.
