NT 3.1 glitches -random freezes

After I install NT 3.1 in virtualbox(yes, I wouldn't use virtualbox, but nothing else works), it keeps freezing randomly, sometimes right after program manager starts, and I must reset, making it almost completely unusable. It has 64 mb ram and 1 gb hdd if that matters and I have SP3 installed. I also disabled the hw virtualization if that matters. This issue only happens in nt 3.1, I have nt 3.51 and 4.0 in vbox and none freeze like this.

You might still benefit from checking the forum for basic guidelines on installing and running NT 3.1.

The bug you're seeing might be caused by something more basic (e.g., the amount of RAM).

Nope, nothing really changes, it still freezes, no matter how high I set that buffer value, and oddly 3.51 suddenly started to act the same way, so there must be something wrong with virtualbox. EDIT: It actually worked for 3.1 and 3.51 stopped acting that way after setting the value to 1000, but after several reboots tough.
