I think you mean the publicly released 98xx builds will stop booting on 4/29/15. Builds 9926 and later stop booting on 10/15/15.

Not boot? Isn't this the first time such a method is implemented? Previously , it was 2 hour shutdowns and non-genuine status , right?

I think this is implemented before in Windows 9x builds if I recall correctly.

Probably Microsoft had implemented a timebomb in the bootmgr. Not sure though. When I am free I would try run the bootmgr through my hex editor to see if that is the case.

Ah , you are right. I actually meant that after Windows Vista was released , as betas of Windows 7/8/8.1 did not have any sort of 'non-boot'.

Soooo the only way to boot these builds in the future is to change the system date back to build date?

Unless someone hacks the bootmgr. But if you do the date changing, keep in mind that might break things when talking to the "outside" (ssl certificate expiration dates and whatnot).

What actually happens when the expiration date is reached?

Two weeks to update. After that, your PC won't be able to boot.

First , it is not 2 weeks , but 4 days.
Secondly , I do not understand by 'your PC wont be able to boot'. What does this mean? Does this mean that an error message will be displayed? Or will it just shut down the computer when it starts booting?

Last 2 weeks before the date, you will see a warning. Then, you have others two weeks to update, but your PC shutdown every three hours. If not, your PC will be always in a booting loop.

Or just NT checks the timebomb on boot and throws END_OF_NT_EVALUATION_PERIOD if it's expired.

No. Indeed, it's Windows Boot Manager that throws a "bad digital signature" error, allowing user to choose another OS to boot if installed.
