What sort of error is this?
About 10.8 GB of disk space should be sufficient , I've upgraded before with as little as 4-6 GB is space.

I got the exact same error.

Here's how to fix it.

Add these registry entries:

Code: Select all

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX]
"IsConvergedUpdateStackEnabled"=dword:00000000

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings]
"UxOption"=dword:00000000
Restart Settings, and you should see the old preview builds UI, you can use that to update to 10049.
