NT4 build 1381 recompiled?

Post by Overdoze »

According to this and several other newsgroup discussions, after build 1381 was already declared RTM and sent out to some people, a serious bug was discovered and the build was recompiled. The only visible difference between the two compiles are a dot at the end of the bootscreen text and file dates (23rd July 1996 vs 2nd August 1996).

Does anyone have any additional info on this subject and potentially have the original compile (seems to be quite rare, obviously)?

EDIT: Lol, sorry, forgot to add the link... 8-)

I actually have this build. It comes from a warez CD I downloaded from the usenet. Notice that on the blue boot screen there is no period:

Do you see a period? I sure don't. Anyway, here's the about box (product key censored):

I have removed the CD serial text file and am currently uploading the ISO to MEGA.co.nz. After it finishes, I will edit this post and provide the link.

You're welcome... it has finished.

Now someone may be able to check if it is a real or a fake build. :)
Hope it is useful!

Hi! Your build it seems to be this, http://www.thecollectionbook.info/build ... 1416#notes , the Pre-Release! I see the date of the files in the ISO and it's 27/07/1996

You do realize that TCB was updated with 1381 pre-release after DiskingRound shared his build...
