Vista 5219 problems...
Re: Vista 5219 problems...
Try changing the VM compatibility to "Workstation 6.5-7.x", then try again.
Re: Vista 5219 problems...
I done that already, but it still doesn't work.Courage wrote:Try changing the VM compatibility to "Workstation 6.5-7.x", then try again.
Re: Vista 5219 problems...
Sometimes, just changing the VM compatibility mode won't work. In this case:
1. Set the VM compatibility mode to the earliest available version.
2. Reinstall your desired OS. (I'm sorry to say this, but sometimes that's the only way out)
3. If you want, you can now set the VM compatibility mode to your desired version.

Try installing vmware 7.1.4 if it helps.

Re: Vista 5219 problems...
Because 10 has different 3d acceleration engine that 7.1.4. Beginning around 8 or 9, the graphics accelerator was changed. I've tried using 4066 in vmware 10, and no dx7 based acceleration worked. Just so happens that the nice things in LH appeared to be dx7 based.

Re: Vista 5219 problems...
Same with 4074, longhorn 5219 is meant for older hardware and if you don't have any old hardware then you are stuck with vmware 7.1.4.

You can try it on 7.1.6 too but I haven't tested 7.1.6 yet so you can give 7.1.6 a go.oscareczek wrote:Why not 7.1.6? Just asking.
