Emulator that can emulate every aspect of a computer

Post by veso266 »

Hi is any Emulator (like VPC or Vmware) avalable out there that you can chose which procesor, motherboards, etc do you want to emulate?

Because in VPC you can only choose how much ram do you want you can't choose for instance Pentium 486 procesor to use with older systems

Best Regards

Or PCem, which offers a choice of CPUs, graphics card, system type and requires a real BIOS dump.
3Dfx Glide PC: Windows 98SE, Pentium III @ 500MHz, 384MB RAM, Voodoo3 2000 16MB
Ageia PhysX PC: Windows Vista, Pentium D @ 3GHz, 3.5GB RAM, Radeon HD 6450 1GB, PhysX PPU
Itanium (IA64) PC: HP Integrity rx2620

PCem is my favorite, 8088, 80286, 80386, 80486, CGA, MDA, EGA and a bunch of VGAs... Short of getting an old computer this emulator is as good as it'll get. It's just as annoying as it was back then!

* plenty.

Don't bother. Just because you /have/ a motherboard, doesn't mean PCem is compatible with it. Even if you managed to dump the BIOS ROMs, Code still has to be written to actually emulate the device. Go look at what PCem can emulate and find the ROMs for those devices.

Why are you so obsessed with destroying the bios? :-)

Because black screens are always fun.
Windows Defender for great justice! Bugs are an international trading company. I need to defeat the anti-debugging and obfuscation methods. It wasn't for Intel's absurd ability to load in ie6. Why even waste time with people in an envelope?

No,they are not,and had you spent last fifteen years repairing other people's computers,as I have,I'm sure you'd agree with me.

We're sure getting off topic here... veso266, perhaps you should do some research on your own rather than sitting around letting others do all your work?
