Re: [Request] Windows 95 4.00.950 r-6
I think I've seen it once on some server, so it's probably circulating in private circles, but I have no idea if it was authentic. It's quite possible that this was scene leaked at some point (and possibly mislabeled as the final RTM build), so chances of finding it one day exist.

950 r-6 is the RTM...
Easy way to find out, get the r-3 to r-6 upgrade, and fc/b the files there with the same files in RTM. They're 100% identical...

r-7 is the RTM, r-6 is not

That's what we thought, but apparently it's not that way.MikeGao wrote:r-7 is the RTM, r-6 is not

I find it ironic that people still say this, when I was the first person to say such. Of course, r-7 is an RTM: the Hebrew RTM. Later I discovered evidence showing most Win95 RTMs are r-6. (Heck, even Raymond Chen says somewhere that "the RTM is 950.6" or words to that effect.)Overdoze wrote:That's what we thought, but apparently it's not that way.MikeGao wrote:r-7 is the RTM, r-6 is not
Re: [Request] Windows 95 4.00.950 r-6
Heck, even KB references that.
Generally, Win32 programs should use GetDiskFreeSpaceEx to determine the total size of a volume and the amount of free space that the caller can use. The one case where this isn't possible is when the program runs on retail Windows 95 (build 950.6) because GetDiskFreeSpaceEx was introduced to Windows 95 in OEM Service Release 2 (OSR2).

Re: [Request] Windows 95 4.00.950 r-6
Sorry if it's a small bump, but I have the Portuguese Brazilian r-3 to r-6 upgrade. IIRC I got it from a "Show da Milhao" CD. It's just 5 cabs. I'm downloading Win95 Portuguese Brazilian from the FTP and will edit this post when I fc/b the files.
Edit: The cabs are WIN95_08, 10, 11, 12, and 13. I put the cabs from the supposed "upgrade" into a folder and got the same cabs from the Windows 95 Portuguese Brazilian from the FTP and put them in a folder. Both folders had the same size (10,240,000 bytes). r-6 is the RTM, nothing to see here.
