Windows 7 Build 7100 CZECH?

Post by mibrab »

Hello. I was recently going through some Czech freeware and trial download sites and found in Top 10 downloads Windows 7 Ultimate 32-Bit. So I took a look at the screenshot and thought that I'll find that "For testing purposes only" watermark, but in Czech, but I found something else. "Windows 7 Zkušební kopie, sestavení 7100" (sestavení means build), and I'm pretty interested in it, since the only Czech beta release I know is the 72xx RTM Escrow build (don't remember the build number). So is this some MUI pack or some fake. I am not downloading the image, due to my connection right now. According to TCB that build doesn't exist in Czech language. So do you know anything about this? I'll try downloading the RC version listed in older versions and report my findings. Also weird is on that desktop "Deactivator" program. Is it some kind of an activation crack?

Sorry, the images include watermark from that site.

Edit 1: The download link leads to an ISO file which is called 7100.0.090421-1700_x86fre_client_en-us_retail_ultimate-grc1culfrer_en_dvd.iso. Since it mentions en-us it should be the english one. Was that the original ISO name from MS?

It's quite possible that someone simply integrated the language pack into the build. This became quite widespread with Vista and later, so it's difficult to tell if the build originally came in the specific language or it was just integrated later. I'm sure someone here knows how to check.

Considering the ISO name says en-us it's surely integrated and not original.

Well take a look on the Calc menus, the View string is not localized, while it is "Zobrazit" in the RTM localization. Integrated for me.

I think it's fake. There's a mistake in the naming of the file. If it's official, the head of the file name should be 6.1.7100, not just 7100.

So I Googled the image name and it 7100.0.090421-1700_x86fre_client_en-us_retail_ultimate-grc1culfrer_en_dvd.iso is the real image name, since it came up with 37,500 results, when 6.1.7100.0.090421-1700_x86fre_client_en-us_retail_ultimate-grc1culfrer_en_dvd.iso came up with 5 results :D, which means that the ISO name is legit.

That ISO that you googled for is the EN-US version of Windows 7 Build 7100, 7100.0.090421-1700_x86fre_client_en-us_retail_ultimate-grc1culfrer_en_dvd.iso and that of course is real since it is the Windows 7 Release Candidate which was send to web in mid 2009, what you are looking for is the czech version of it, which seems to not exist at least for the general public, unfortunatly Microsoft doesn't send to web the majoraty of languages when it comes to pre-release versions of Windows, what is in that picture maybe is just an EN-US version with a Czech language pack into it, it will be good for beta community if we ever found other unreleased languages.

I know, that the offered ISO uses at least the English filename, I am asking if those screenshots are legit. But I was responding to someone that said that it should be 6.1.7100...
