Windows VPC won't install in Win7 (NOT VPC07!)

I was installing Windows Virtual PC on my Win7 laptop. However, when I reboot, the system says this:

Code: Select all

Failure configuring Windows updates
Reverting changes
Do not turn off your computer

I tried uninstalling VPC 2007 (the latter) and reinstalling the former, but to no avail. Any solution?

I did also face this problem with an x64 computer.
The installer appears to have unexpectedly restarted(?).
I think that you could just reinstall Windows 7 through an in place upgrade and then try again.
