Windows 98 (4.10.1707) screenshot...

I recently found a screenshot of a pre-release build of Windows 98 on the Internet. Unfortunately, it is a low-resolution screenshot, so low infact that it's hard enough to determine whether it actually says 4.10.1707 or 4.10.1787.

Also to note is the Internet Explorer throbber in the drive window - it is a straight flag on a clouded background (used for the closest Windows 98 versions that we have here).

Doing a reverse image search turned up a much higher res image from some site that has "funny error messages":


Unfortunately, it looks like it's 4.10.1702 which is on the FTP.

Can pretty much confirm the 4.10.1702, though in my Nexus 5 looked like 17D2. However, the error message can be created from the registry, can it?

Well, it looks like you were correct. Unfortunately from the low-resolution screenshot, it looked like 4.10.1707, but now that a higher resolution screenshot has been found, it looks like it was just 4.10.1702.
