Bootup error on Mac OS 8.6
Re: Bootup error on Mac OS 8.6
On what software/macintosh?
Windows Defender for great justice! Bugs are an international trading company. I need to defeat the anti-debugging and obfuscation methods. It wasn't for Intel's absurd ability to load in ie6. Why even waste time with people in an envelope?

On Windows 8.1 Pro Preview using vMac
Re: Bootup error on Mac OS 8.6
You can't boot Mac OS 8 by using vMac, because it requires a PowerPC procesor. Use Sheepshaver instead.x010 wrote:On Windows 8.1 Pro Preview using vMac

Actually, Mac OS up to 8.1 runs on 68040s (and 68030s with some tweaks), but not on the 68000 that vMac emulates. Basilisk II, a 68040 emulator, runs Mac OS 8.1.AlphaBeta wrote:You can't boot Mac OS 8 by using vMac, because it requires a PowerPC procesor. To run Mac OS 8.x smoothly I recommend you Basilisk II or SheepShaver. On vMac you can install System 6.x-7

I have successfully ran Mac OS 8 on Basilisk II in windows XP but you must set the processor and the machine type to the max setting. I also recommend giving it at least 256 MB of RAM and a 800x600 res or more
