Looks like only Pro and Enterprise images for now - but what're you waiting for? Gogogo!

I'll stick to my 180 days/1000 rearms version.

I will download the trial. Burn it in a lemon DVD, then print the Win8 "core" case.

I looked for a product.ini on the extracted .iso (none) so I cannot find what all the multiple products (editions) are they are referring to:

Windows 8 (x64) - DVD (English)
ISO|English|Release Date: 8/15/2012
3416 MB
This file contains multiple products.

What's the build number? Has it changed slightly since the leaked version?

It's exactly the same build. There are exactly 32 bytes of difference between the leaked Pro ISO and the TechNet ISO.

Update 08/15/2012 @ 1:55 PM EST: We can now confirm that the build of Windows 8 on TechNet and MSDN is indeed 6.2.9200.16384 (win8_rtm.120725-1247), the same exact build that was claimed to be RTM that leaked on the web last week.

If you looked at the whole section available on Technet/MSDN:
Quote:
This file contains multiple products. Please refer to your product keys to determine which products are included with your subscription.

They refer you the claimed product key's, which key's are available to you.
Technet Subscribers only get Windows 8 Pro, MSDN Subscribers can get Windows 8 (core) and Windows 8 Pro, depending on your subscription level.

Thanks for the reply Rob.

I see that TechNet also offers "N" keys to me but the Dl is a different size.
The UK build is a different size but uses the same keys.

Guess I'll have to install my version & see if any choices are offered before the key is entered, I'm thinking not.

The N edition is without a Windows Media Components, hence the reduced size.
The ''en-gb'' build is also different in size, since it is an ''en-gb'' language pack, not the standard ''en-us'' one.
The key's are accepted on all languages, this has been the case since Windows Vista if not earlier (can't say on the top of my head right now).

If you have Technet, you have access to the Windows 8 Pro Retail of the Enterprise MAK, if you have MSDN you have access to the ''Core'' (simply Windows 8) or also the Windows 8 Pro and not Enterprise, unless you have an MSDN with VLK type license.

Once you input a serial, you chose the edition there and then, no list comes forward, as was already evident with the release of the Consumer Preview 8-)

Thanks for the reply Rob.

I went ahead & tried out the Professional TechNet version.
As you said once one inputs the key then the version info appears.
In my case w/ a Professional (retail) subscription no other choices were there.
I would imagine depending on ones type of subscription would determine if they see more than 1 edition to choose.

I suppose there are other versions on the .iso but just not visable, because of what the full section:
"This file contains multiple products. Please refer to your product keys to determine which products are included with your subscription."

There are only 2 images on the disc as it is the case with the Release Preview, Microsoft has simplified its SKU's.

Core and Pro.
Core is the ''Home Edition'' and Pro is the ''Professional'', like in Windows XP, the Core includes the same, but without some ''Enterprise'' functionality, like Domain Join, Remote Desktop and so on.
ProWMC you need a seperate serialnumber for, not available on any MSDN/Technet Subscription.

Core only comes with a MSDN subscription, since there are only 2 varients on Technet, and neither has the Core.
But then again, the Enterprise is on Technet but not on MSDN (it is on MSDN, but without a VL type of license, you can't get it there).

If you have the VL version installed, it can, but you must have access to it with a VL subscription.

Does Microsoft TechNet access cost anything? The reason why I'm asking this, is because I originally tried to download the first parts of Wzor's leak, but failed on the download for the copy of Part 3 that I found, but now that it's on TechNet, I'm going to consider downloading from there, if it's possible.

Yes, it costs $179 for the Professional option - and it is illegal to use the provided images and keys for anything other than IT testing.

It's too bad MS botched up the MSDN releases, I've so far found 6 broken ISOs that are available through MSDN. I've reported them but I doubt I'll get any response soon. Unfortunately I couldn't try any of the Enterprise editions as my MSDN account doesn't include these.

Which ISO's are "botched up".
I found one that is only 188mb while it should be over 3000mb.

@WinPC, ofcourse it costs money, you think microsoft gives away free RTM iso's? Except for trials.

I wish I had a MSDNAA or a Technet subscription haha. I was wondering if
Windows 8 will be available for MSDNAA subscribers?

Well, Microsoft has replaced them now, at the time of writing there were 6 ISOs that couldn't be fully downloaded.

And the ISOs should be free, what you technically pay for is a license to run the OS, not to own a file. If MS were smart they would sell licenses online, you just grab the ISO freely from their website, pay for a license and off you go installing it. Technically I can't even see how the ISOs would fall under any license agreement as you have not accepted nor paid for a license to keep a copy of the installation media, especially now when Windows 8 doesn't have a trial mode anymore. If such were the case that the ISO was free to distribute then we could basically put up all ISOs on BA since you would still need a valid license to use them, but not to distribute them.

Anyway, that was a bit too offtopic. But all ISOs are fine now and archived for the future.
