Today I tried to install Windows Longhorn build 3718 on my laptop. Made a different partition, set the BIOS date back, and put the disk in the drive. All ok, the free space formatting went fine. The problem occurred when it checked the drives. Checked the new partition D:. Fine. It then went to check my partition C:, where I have Windows Vista installed. Then the error pops up and tells me that partition C: is corrupted and setup cannot continue. Can I do anything about this?
I too had this problem I call microsoft and it has given me the solution
You had this problem with a pre-release build, you called Microsoft and they helped you?
Unless there's a KB article about AUTOCHK.EXE corruption (regardless of OS version) they certainly wouldn't have offered support for a ancient dev build of Windows. Probably Customer Service thought he had XP and gave him standard instructions for that one, still this sure made my day xD

Great. Is there any Longhorn build that doesn't have problems?

Wow! This would be so awesome! When a build leaks, switch to dynamic IP, make a new Microsoft account, and ask a question about it in Microsoft answers with a screenshot. Or ask Microsoft Support about it, lol.. Wait for the reply.

Heh, you're all so new.
Just three or so years ago when Longhorn projects were all the rage, there was a noob phoning Microsoft support every other week about Longhorn builds, then bitching about how "useless" Microsoft support was when they didn't support them.
