I was digging around an archaic mirror of the Plan 9 website, and what do I find? A couple of floppy images from 1995, comprising the base x86 distribution of Plan 9, second edition.
So, here's an installed copy: http://www.monkey-hole.co.uk/esa/os/qem ... -2.img.bz2.
Run it in QEMU. It'll boot into DOS; when it's booted, issue "plan9\b" at the prompt. If you've played with Plan 9 before, you'll know what to do next. You can log in without any credentials, or poke into my account ('mark' - no password). If you look at my account you'll find a directory called 'c' in which I've left a little message
