[solved]Steam can't connect to steam network

Post by Ciastex »

Well, I've got iDeneb 10.5.5(steam didn't work on it) and upgraded to 10.5.8(thought that it will work). The problem it is, after installation each time when I want to login it waits for a few seconds, hangs for a few seconds and throws me an error which says: "Steam can't connect to the Steam Network". Did anyone solve this problem? And yes... I searched in steampowered forums.

Sorry, but the dialog is in Polish(Means: Steam is having troubles with connecting to steam network[the link under leads to help for windows -.-]). Reinstallation of STEAM didn't help.

Yes. No firewall, or something that can disturb connections is enabled.

I have this problem on my OS X installation. It is to do with Steam's security system, where it checks for a new PC and send you a code via e-mail. However it never prompts you to type the code in and disallows your connection. Contact steam about the problem.

Check your e-mail i guarantee it is spammed with steam access codes.

Or maybe I will disable my steamGuard option?

Well... How to disable SteamGuard, when I don't have access to steam? :D
EDIT: Used dad's computer to do it. It seems, that STEAM is working now. Thank you very much! :)

You will need to use a windows computer to disable it.
Then go to settings, and then "Manage steam guard account security" and disable it.
