Normal backups are fine. Mostly with a large USB drive.
But, I've got about 1.5 TB worth of music (legal) stored on two EXHDs, and because they are almost full, I have to decide if I want to burn a ton of disks, or go and buy another drive. I would prefer to archive as disks (FLAC files, not burn as CDs), because I can store them in a cool place and forget about the thought of losing them to drive failure. But what a pain in the arse that's going to be! As they say... "Procrastinate later." Better than losing it all and having to start all over, though.
Redundancy is king, it's not ubercheap but if you go with a RAID-5 the financial loss isn't killer. On my desktop I'm sticking with a RAID-0 that is backed up each day to my server. Can't beat the speeds of a striped array, 400+MB/s.
I personally want to build myself an energy efficient server (new processors probably use less power than my AMD Sempron 2600) for backups, maybe running WHS.
Thats hopefully what my server is going to be energy efficient, with 3 1TB drives in RAID 5
Got all my media on a 250GB witch is mirrored to a 320GB witch is then copied every 12 hours to my backup server And same with my websites there mirrored and then backed up to another server works like a charm on gigabyte LAN
I should back up more often. I have two hard drives, a 250GB and a 500GB. I might remove the 250GB and put in another 500GB and set up a mirror RAID. Is this a good idea?

I think my backup system works, just
All my data is synced between the laptop and the desktop via Windows Live Sync Every week, Rio (server) will grab the files from the desktop, another copy. I also use Mozy Sync as well.

I have some DVD backups of my music, and Live Mesh backups of some important files, but other than that I don't really have much worth worrying about...

I used to do burned disc backups of my family computer and my own computer for years. Then we finally got one of those External Hard Drives that plugs in via USB [slower than Firewire, I know], but it keeps a manual backup of my family's computer, and an automatic [Time Machine] backup of my MacBook Pro. I backup whenever I can, but usually once a month for full backups.

I usually perform a weekly routine backup of my 400gb Hitachi to my Maxtor One Touch 500gb, not only does this give me the safety of in case a system instability were to occur but it helps me manage and tidy up my main HD.

I manually copy files to an external hard drive... when I feel like it XD
I have no idea about any software that supports doing a full followed by incremental backups... maybe I'm too lazy, I don't know, but heck, I'm lazy. Just so long as my most important data doesn't die, I'm happy.
Norton Ghost... I thought that was for doing full backups only. I might look into it, but I really don't want to fork out money.

hey nice!! i need a reminder to do this more often, i just backed up my data 2 nights ago, i did it manually as well to a 500gb MyBook makes things a lot more easier...
i do need to find an easier way to do it, as doing it manually i find a miss things from time to time, and with HDD's getting bigger by the minute it will only get more difficult to make sure all is backed up...

I'm creating backups usually every two months of my entire computer. Favorites form IE, Game scores, E-Mails from Outlook and LiveMail and all the partitions on my HDD's.
I'm using Acronis or the Backup Tool included in Vista and Windows 7. I have a 1 TB external HDD in order to get all my files backed up properly.

Daily incremental backups with Genie Backup Manager to a networked 250 GB USB drive, laptop and desktop.
I'm still looking for a good way to sync a few folders between the laptop and desktop, anyone have any suggestions? Preferably something like ActiveSync where it transfers Outlook data as well...

I think when I last posted here, about two weeks later that backup system fell down badly, and is virtually non existant now, apart from the occasional laptop to pen drive.
When my 40GB USB drive arrives, all my work will be on there, with a backup on my desktop. Lovely.
I could also do a backup to my dedi in France, but I dunno yet
