Wow, I want them to be real too ... those look very nice. Its either real or someone has worked very hard on skinning a 55xx build.

Interesting to note that it shows the DVD maker, which looks unchanged from pre-rc1, and also it has the cool media player sidebar gadget that was shown at PDC last year (the one with all the cool animations). It also has an older-looking RSS gadget. So if its fake they've gone to quite a length to make it look nice.

Those photos reminds me good old protos @ pdc 2003 & WinHEC 2004. And some features from PDC 2005 plus some ideas from 5259+ builds (like start menu button). Plus i really like the logon... Some ppl over internet says that its Blackcomb (Vienna but i like Blackcomb name more...)!

I saw the thread on AeroXP, and everyone decided it was fake :)

The Start menu is rather nice though.

Cant be Blackcomb, they have only just started work on the Kernel (Totally from scratch hence why announicing it even before Vista is released) The UI wont be started on or making appearences for at least another 3 years.

The real 5600 (RC1) was released a few days ago and will be made public on Thursday.

Have they started on Blackcomb/Vienna already? Is there a source for this?

I think so, anyways it must be totally different if they are announcing it before Vista is released.

They haven't even started any bit of Blackcomb/Vienna, the only things you hear about it are lies.

These pictures would be really nice if they were real... however I highly doubt it. And, yes, someone really does need to get a better camera.

I haven't seen any screenies of RC1 yet, so I wouldn't know

However, they look like some of the pre-rc1 screenshots ive seen... sort of.
