Ive just added a decent playlist to the player so you shouldn't get any crap anymore.

Y'know, I've been thinking about stuff like this for a while since Hak5 Radio started up again (it's a slightly underused station run by the community of fans around the IPTV show Hak5, excuse the pitch )...

What I'd like to hear and maybe help host or whatever is a couple of tech-type shows, like realtime podcasts if you will, even if it is a bit of a step back to the days of radio...

Maybe we could have some shows about OS, tech in general or something else relevant to this whole thing... perhaps discussions about how people got started collecting betas with skype phone-ins?

The ideas are just flooding in! lol. Why do I come up with these ideas...

Because these ideas make the BA community better

Anyway, now that BA Radio is now up and running, maybe it is time to launch it properly. Maybe creating a link to it the top navigation bar, and after looking at the SHOUTcast website maybe you can include this HTML code to show the current song that is playing. But changing it from "My SHOUTcast server" to "BetaArchive Radio"

It might be up and running but its not official yet. I'm still figuring a few things out, like bandwidth use etc.

However. we've had a fair number of visitors tonight, with a peak of 3 at any one time. Average listen time is just under 2 hours.

Unfortunately my Hackintosh has no sound at the moment so I can't test it for myself...

Since opening the radio the server bandwidth usage has risen by 2.5x

Is BA Radio working, i can't seem to connect to it

Its not no. I turned the stream off while running some torrents. I lost over 60GB of data acquired by torrents which I need back, so they have priority at the moment. The stream should be back on by the weekend if all goes well.

Just to announce BA radio is back online with my entire collection of 25GB (5500 files) of music. This is until I find time to make a decent playlist, so expect some crapness again.

The stream is now also 128Kbps.

Down again.....

Jake has an idea to try the podcast idea out, like a radio show every few days by people willing to, playing your own tracks and talking baout forum subjects ect.

What'd you think?
