You could maybe let users apply to be news posters and post news in the Main News froum and have articles on the main page.

I was thinking, since BrainDrain is no longer coming to this forum, and he was the "Main News" poster, that we should merge the two forums into one and have just a "News" forum. Good idea?

Yes, I think that's a good idea, but maybe this could cause a problem if "all kinds of news" are posted and there is no differentiation between "More and less important" ones or something like that. Just my $0.02...

i think we need more news posters, as right now everything is going in the member posted news and nothing in the main news. I still think they should be seperated. Keep the main news to a certain style of formating and type of news

The problem is decication. Nobody wants to become a dedicated news poster. BrainDrain did an excellent job before he realised it was taking over his life, and thats the reason nobody wants to do it.

well maybe when news gets posted, someone format it and move it to main news ?
