Here's the promised screenshot of the new feature:
More details about this: the Advisor monitors your browsing expirience (if you enabled it in the options, of course), notifies you when it's below average and gives you some tips to follow and improve the expirience...

DeFacto: Are you advertising for Microsoft?

Thanks, I'll fix it before releasing the build.

Not really, IE is required anyway, and MSE is a lightweight and good AV... You don't have to download it, it's completely optional and you can disable Advisor anyway.

I don't think you shouldn't say outright MSE, just say "antivirus software". It's better.
The problem is, anyone who doesn't already have it probably isn't tech-savvy enough to think of any antivirus besides Norton. May as well give them a recommendation.

Thats just plain advertising (although it is a free product), and personally I'm a bit unsure of Microsofts AV, if they're giving it for free, they sort of can't be giving it as much effort as companies which do purely Computer Security, and have commercial AV products. Its better than advertising a paid program, but still, you do give people an option on which search engine they use...
But really, do you think anyone using Poseidon wouldn't be savvy enough to have AV?
Anyway, mainly just posting to say that my testing has been postponed to the weekend, in the meantime I can tell you that Poseidon Alpha 1 (latest public release: 1.0.40.0.x86fre.main_alpha1.120712-1500) works perfectly on: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit SP1 with IE9 (all updates) Windows 8 RP 64bit with WMC (all updates)
PS. would you like screenshots, and do you want the Deployment System tested as well?

Why not trust a vast company like Microsoft which specializes in Computer & OS Security, among other things? MSE is a fully-fledged AV software competing with all those commercial bloatwares out there, like Norton, AVG or Avast. Microsoft is giving their AV software as much attention as it needs. They don't release the previous version as the new one with just an updated UI. (Much like Symantec).
Also, DeFacto is not advertising MSE, he's just giving a mere recommendation of which AV to use. And I'm happy he recommends the best one out there.

Well, since some people have a problem with MSE and Microsoft in general I'll just change the text to be neutral and generic. Though as said, it was only a recommendation and not advertising. It's also completely optional, Poseidon won't stop working if you don't download MSE...
I may as well add that this is a unique feature I haven't seen in any other browser yet, if it exists then please show it to me... And if you haven't noticed, I'm more focused on features and innovation rather than pure HTML5 crap which is (sadly) the only thing people care about today when choosing a browser...
Anyway, today I implemented page zoom (which should already be done a long time ago) and added a custom context menu for the page... As you can see, the ammount of IE-dependencies and leftovers is being reduced with every build.
So in the end, it's not all just about usability and standards compliance - I have my own ideas I work on... But thanks SotirisMichail for positive feedback. Also regarding PDS testing: test that as well, and new build of PDS is comming along with Poseidon build 50.

DeFacto, same configuration as before: PDS 1.0 using Windows 8 RTM Pro x64. I used it to install Poseidon. God, how anxious I am for Build 50. DeFacto, please, can I have a private testing chance? I'm now a tester at Chrometro, you know.

OK, thanks for the info.
About the testing: the build is not finished yet, and when it will be, it will be released to public... So for build 50 you can't, but maybe in the future private testing programs (Beta 1)...

I think you forget that because MSE is made by Microsoft, it integrates much better into the OS. And since Microsoft knows the vulnerabilities in Windows, their antivirus is better prepared to cover them.

Another "major" new thing guys, the fusion button is now 4in1, which means it's used for refresh, cancel, go and search functions. If the text in the adress bar doesn't resemble a URL then it will search for it using the default search provider that you selected... This makes the sepparate search button and panel obsolete, so they have been removed in order to simplify the UI.
