Moderator who is reading this: Lock the thread. I instead used the RAM and hard drive for my Compaq Presario SR2125UK as part of an upgrade. Thank you for your help, though, everyone. BetaArchive is indeed a brilliant place to get help (no sarcasm, I am serious, everyone here is helpful) :D

All I can get from my Packard Bell IMax X3516 is a long beep. It will stop for a few seconds, then a long beep will sound again.
I don't know the BIOS vendor, but remembering the GUI and comparing it to a youtube video about updating the BIOS (Note that I did not update the BIOS) it seems to be from Award.

If it helps, my mom was pressing CtrlAltDel when Windows was being slow. My dad then decided that it would seem fit to shut it down from the wall's power supply. Now it gives off these long beeps. I know he caused it, but I need to know what's going on. I can't seem to find anything on Google, so if anyone here has a solution, do tell.

I realise I told you guys about it before, but it seems that I haven't told enough... This PC has a slide mechanism in which I was able to get the PC open by sliding it out (and closed by sliding it in).

The beeps were in a continuous loop where it makes a long beep... then pause for 10-20 seconds, then beep again, and so on.

I'm going to try clearing the CMOS, I know people do this by disconnecting the CMOS battery.
I might seem like an idiot, but is this it? (Look at the dust *hehe* )
It COULD be a memory problem, so I will remove one RAM stick.

I would do a CMOS Clearing before trying to do anything.

I replaced the RAM but nothing's happening.
I'll reset the CMOS later.

Long beeps, instead of short beep codes, means that the machine can't even begin to start. Clearing the CMOS may in fact work, but if it doesn't, its most likely the motherboard/processor

well, i don't really know what's wrong but my cuz had a Dell Optiplex and it did did the same thing two long beeps. The problem was that his kid had stuck a screwdriver in a USB port and the two power terminals were shorting out. i fixed that and it booted again

Sometimes it can be small things that fix some big problems. Same case with computing.
Right I'm going to find the CMOS battery and unplug it. Should I reseat the RAM?

UPDATE! Reseating the RAM stopped the beeping! But no picture yet.

Check your video card (if any) and reseat it.

What if it's integrated? I can't even find where the processor is on here because a box actually blocks my way, but that's where fans are...

BUT, if I can't get this working, can I get the RAM from this computer and put it in my old one (replacing the two 512MB sticks in my PC atm)? I'm asking because the RAM sticks have different Mhz.

Seems like you're not fammiliar with a computer's internal organs...

If you have an integrated card (a controller actually) then of course you can't fix it without replacing the motherboard, unless the issue is elsewhere, perhaps in the cable or monitor. The best way to get the video back working is by getting a sepparate graphics card (AGP I suppose) and see if that works...

Well, obviously, the CPU is lying in the socket on the motherboard under a heatsink and a fan... So you can't see it without removing them both, but doing so will ruin the thermal paste and you'll have to re-apply it. Unless there's a good reason to look at your CPU with the fan and heatsink removed, don't do it.

Depends on what type of RAM is used in both computers, has to be the same standard. You will have to check both computers and then report back here or look up on the compatibility yourself.

These beeps are usually RAM or CPU fault.

The RAM question I used Google for, thanks.
I'm guessing it's a power supply issue, because when my NVIDIA graphics card messed up on an old, it would still boot, but in garbled graphics. (Wouldn't boot to Vista though) The issue was that my dad had switched it off from a plug socket and not by shutting down Vista or holding the power button for 5 seconds.
I looked into the issue, and it seems to be a power supply problem (not the cable though, my old computer has the same cable and it didn't work)

They tend to be different, my Phoenix BIOS PC gave off a different beep to the the one described here when I put in no RAM.

How much watts is your PSU rated for?

That is what I was trying say. Short beeps are documented diagnostic codes. When you have a long one or constant repeating long ones, it means there isn't enough function for the machine to even figure out what is wrong

I had this when i allocated 64 MB of RAM for the onboard graphics on the PC with 128 MB RAM (lol) but i reseated the RAM and flushed the CMOS and the system went back working (i was so scared that i broke something).
