Hey,

I am unable to expand (using ImageX) windows 8 beta images, they extract but give a bootloader error saying that the signature hasn't been verified and it wont let me boot. Has anyone else had this problem? I was trying to merge all of the windows 8 images into one file to save space, any suggestions?

Are you using an existing Windows 7 bootloader (this isn't in the WIM)? You'll need to update/replace the bootloader with the one on the DVD.

oh right ok, so merging the images will work as long as i have the 8 boot loader? Does EasyBCD have support for this?

That doesn't solve the boot error.

You can boot from the 8 dvd and go to cmd and use bcdedit to install new bootloader.

What do you mean by expand? IZArc, a free archiving utility, can extract ISO contents for you easily enough.

I know what you need to do what he means is mounting the Windows images.

You need a tool called DISM.exe each copy of Windows 7 has this so you can use that.

(Mount the image)
dism /Mount-Wim /WimFile:DIRECTORY:\NAME HERE.wim /Index:1 /MountDir:DIRECTORY

(Save the image)
dism /unmount-Wim /MountDir:DIRECTORY /commit

(Discard all changes)
dism /unmount-Wim /MountDir:DIRECTORY /discard

Send me a PM if you require any further assistance.
