And it makes sense sspecially since this is an offer, he shouldn't need to try to sell it to you, if you want it, you can get it.

If somebody offered you a paper bag full of unspecified "things", would you accept it? No. You'd want to know what was in it first. Somebody making an offer should still provide basic info on the game so people can determine if it's of use WITHOUT having to go Google. It's not like you're asking a question on one of the help boards. You're presenting a product, and with that product needs to come information.

Normally I would agree that one should "google it", but in this case the member offered something without providing any info. As with any new presentation or item it should be presented with all info available. If anyone then wants additional info then "google it" would be warranted. That's why I asked for more info from the member that offered the product (since the member should be the one holding the information too).

But since the member offering it didn't seem to know what kind of game it is, then here it is, some info for the members of this board:

So from what I see, it looks like a Civilization-like game spanning the entire globe with historical references. Also, are you sure this is canceled? I can't find any information regarding its cancellation and the website is still up, albeit not updated but that can just mean that the dev team gone into hard labor mode, as this is common with game development.

You don't think google applies in this case, yet you link to the very first google entry, which also happens to be the games name MangaMundi. I would agree that people should post information about what theyre offering, but as I was explained that you don't need to here.


It wouldn't need a full label of everything in it, I could just look inside it . But this is more like someone offering me a new beta of "Rigs of Rods", he could explain to me everything about the game, or I could just search the internet and find out as much as I want, get screenshots, etc.

I don't see why you need to argue this. If someone is offering something that person should provide all available info about it, the person should know this info since he's offering it. And it makes it a lot simpler for everyone else to not have to dig through the net everytime. Naturally if anyone wanted more info they should do some research about it themselves, but the more info you provide when you offer the title, the better for everyone else, not to mention a lot more professional.

Now which one would you prefer?

I don't see a point of arguing this, I expect our members to do their best by providing any information possible about any title they offer. Fine, if they don't know much about it themselves they can either provide whatever info they got and inform us, or they can do some research themselves. Or even post screenshots, a video, whatever in addition to the little info they got. Whatever helps you know. However any replies "what is it?" is useless and here "google it!" DOES apply. And only in rare cases would the title we so unknown that a "what is it" question is warranted, but this would become quite apparent when others have problems experience the same difficulties in finding information.

Either way, now we know what kind of game it is. Information that could have been provided with the initial post.

I will now add this game to the release queue so we can at least have it archived if people want to try it out.

And members, please try to provide any useful info with your offerings. It helps our members, and it helps me to determine what it is and if it's worth keeping. You don't need to be extremely detailed, just basic info.
