I saw this and there are 3 bots right now. I want to know what really "BOT"s are.

These are search indexing bots...they index our website so they appear on web searches.

I don't pick favorites.
How many topics are people allowed to start in a given time frame? I don't really care, but as of now you have 7 topics started out of the 25 in the recent topics on BA's front page. I'm just curious if there is any rule on that. Not that it bothers me or anything.

I only see 4 started by Y0UNGW00.

I wouldn't think there is a rule for the number, just on the content. Eg. if you make 7 topics about the same thing, when you could have just made one, or you make 7 useless topics, then I would hope its a problem. Else I don't think it should be a problem.

By using Yacy written in Java and being FOSS you can set up your own search engine server complete with a web crawler.

Why would you do that?

Or just use Google?

Enter this in the google search field if you want to search only on betaarchive.com

Code:
site:betaarchive.com: foo

where foo is what you want to look for... Why reinvent the wheel yet again?

Anything checked :P
no need for the second colon at the end,
Code:
site:betaarchive.com foo
is enough..
