Forum rules


Please read the following rules before posting a download request in this area:

1. Don't post a request if you have under 10 posts as stated on the front page. If you do anyway, it will be deleted without further notice. This also applies to other members: If you see a request by someone with less than 10 posts and it hasn't been deleted yet, please don't reply to it.
2. Don't request for warez or any copyrighted software. Only betas (no matter how old or new) and finals of operating systems and applications that are at least 10 years old and therefore classified as abandonware are allowed to be uploaded to and shared on the BetaArchive FTP server.
3. If you have your own FTP server where you'd like other members to upload what you're looking for to, please don't post its login details in any open forum as that will probably lead to abuse. Post the login details in the Private Servers section instead.
4. Check that we don't already have the file on our FTP servers. If you don't have access to the FTP servers then ask someone who has (a moderator for example).

Does anyone still have the "Microsoft Windows 8 Language Packs (6.2.8400.0) (rc).rar", the one, which was released here before the official release happened?

I still have them, but they are pointless since they are the same as the official ones. The official ones even include more of them and it's an official ISO, whereas mine was just a bunch of packed lp.cab files.

Yeah, but I still want them because I have the originally leaked Simplified Chinese version installed. They probably work better on it.

Can you please then upload it if you have it somewhere?

a quick search in torrent sites for "Windows 8 release preview extracted language packs x86-x64" does yield some useful results. I guess MSDN users have access to everything else.

Well, why don't you just take the official ISO and use that? It's the SAME language packs, one pack created by me (folders rarred into a single file), one pack created by Microsoft (an ISO with the folders on it). Just use that. I mean, where do you think those LPs came from originally?

All the RC ISOs and LPs came from MSDN...

Well, if it's the exact same language packs, with the same MD5, etc, and same or more amount of multi- languages, then OK.
But I'm just asking for the original language pack leak for the collection.

It's been re-added as "Microsoft Windows 8 Language Pack (6.2.8400.0) (rc) (alt).rar". It would be nice to know what the differences are (apart from the extra en-GB LP).

I checked the MD5 sums of that reuploaded alt archive, and they are different from both carlaum1's sums and official. Is it just me, or not?
