It's a huge post, but at the end of the page, you can see an OFFICIAL screenshot from the Release Preview. (Well, i believe it's just an early build of the RP.)

While a few of these visual changes are hinted at in the upcoming Release Preview, most of them will not yet be publicly available. You’ll see them all in the final release of Windows 8!
I think we're going to talk about all but the new desktop theme in this thread. The screenshot is not from an early build of the Release Preview, I guess Release Preview is developed in parallel to the newer Windows 8 builds.

Except in real world usage, it won't make anything lighter. Aero is handled via GPU and makes absolutely zero difference - and in fact sometimes performs *better* than non Aero - to, for example, framerates in games. None. Aero is not a taxing thing. Hell this netbook has it enabled right now and disabling it makes zero difference.

Mine just said completed and the ISO ended at 7.92MB, not sure if its just a bad connection that killed it or the ISO is really that size
It mounts with a load of normal setup files inside but all next to no files size
Someone on PCBeta has already finished downloading, so that's most probably due to throttling if you end at 8MB. Xunlei Kuaichuan is really a crap I have to say. http://bbs.pcbeta.com/viewthread-1045591-1-1.html
