I thought it would be fun if there was a topic where you could show off your computer specs and your Windows Experience Index.. so I started this topic.

My 15k SAS drive is still limited to 5.9, even tried a RAID0 setup once with the same results. Can actually tell its a lot faster in real world usage though, but noisy as hell.
Twin Xeon quad-cores 16GB FBDDR2 FirePro V3750 Total cost about £350

Woohoo! lowest a.t.m.
Still hoping my laptop (Acer TravelMate 5730) dies soon but it wont't so there is no real reason to buy a new one... From the 2 laptops I bought new (first one was a Toshiba Satellite Pro L10) this Acer is the most reliable. Although thanks to the support from Acer I won't buy anything from Acer again...

Actually, there was a Celeron earlier that's a lot slower than your system. A Core 2 Duo isn't all that old.
It's not slow at all (not for what I do with it) but since the update to Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4 it is not that quick anymore in exporting 10MB RAW images and since i'm planning to buy a new camera which produces bigger RAW files a better PC with more power would be nice. But as long as this Acer lives I won't buy another laptop.
And about the "lowest" score I could take my old 2nd hand P4 laptop, last time with Windows 7 starter I had an index of 1 but that was because the display driver had compatibility issues (Old Intel chip without Vista/7 drivers).

Yes, most SSD's today score 7.9, and it's pretty stupid that microsoft limited hdd's to 5.9, because i'm pretty sure newer 7.2krpm hdds and WD raptors could get up to 6.9ish.

Mechanical HDDs are not limited to 5.9, they just do not have enough performance to beat 5.9
I've seen only twice, 2 x 1TB Mechanical HDDs in RAID 0 manage a 6.0

Actually, it is limited to 5.9, and only RAID 0 HDD's are limited to 6.0 as you said, see here: answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-performance/confused-with-the-scores-for-primary-hard-disk-of/4eaef6b3-6135-49c9-95a5-59c9658612fe
