Yes, ReactOS is an option as a base for a custom OS. How silly of me to forget it.

No, you cannot make a UNIX-based OS out of Windows NT or ReactOS source code.

Hmm, it used to be you could download the WRK without having to be a Faculty Member. Looks like they changed that. I do believe the WRK is up on our FTP Server though.
