I wanted to ask this. I got Ubuntu that is absolutely translated(cobuntu) and installed in my computer. That said that the lateset version, which is 12.04, is avalible right now and says to update ubuntu. But, I have some questions.
1.If I upgrade from Cobuntu to Ubuntu, does boot screen change from cobuntu to ubuntu? 2.If I upgrade to 12.04, does it have many differences than 11.10? 3.Is ubuntu slow in Core i5, or fast?

Ubuntu 12.04 runs just good on stuff like Intel Atom or old PCs, so don't worry for performance issues. Oh, I actually never heard of this Cobuntu, but I can see is some kind of Ubuntu optimized for Korean users....good to know...

I never had a good experience with Ubuntu on netbooks running Atoms. The UI always lagged and it sucked up memory like...something that sucks up memory.

Yeah, the newer Ubuntu generally has the same processor requirement as XP and needs about 1 GB of memory to really run comfortably.

I'd say the processor and memory requirements used to be a lot slower however with the introduction of Unity it seemed to have caused a major resource suck. If you're like me and hate useless clutter, try an LXDE based distro, Lubuntu will probably be best to try first.

I actually happen to like Unity, but I tend to use Cinnamon as well, which is considerably lighter-weight despite being a GNOME 3 shell. And as Unity's been upgraded it's gotten MUCH less resource-hungry.

I only used it back when it was in the first few editions of Ubuntu, it just always seemed much slower to me than anything else. I might just be accustomed to the style, but I feel LXDE is the best due to it's simplicity.

Fun useless fact:
I used to triboot my computer between Win98, WinXP and SlackWare 10 ro thereabouts (this was in 2002/03)
I upgraded from 512kB to 1 GB RAM
Win98 stopped working WinXP becase at least twice as fast SlackWare I didn't notice anything, untill I loaded up like 15 - 20 prgorammes at once, then I noticed it was using the swap partition near as much as it used to before I got the RAM upgrade.
Based on that (Note it's over 10 years old experience) I'ld say Linux by an large are far more intelligent in the way it uses resources and organises RAM between its running programmes, hence why, depending on you interface of course (Gnome, KDE, LXDE, XFCE, XVWM95, etc. Whicever one you use is a HUGE factor in terms of speed and usability and experience. ), it feels so much faster than any Windows I've ever tried.
Beauty of Linux, is you pick one, try it out, if you decide it's good, you stick with it, otherwise you try something else. In RedmondOS and also in the FruitdishOS, what you get is what you get, like it or not, it's what you have

Yes, but for example, I like they way how Mac OS X is designed. Also, both Microsoft and Apple have their community forums to listen to other people's opinions.

Still, the Redmond User Interface is still pretty much the same now in 7, as it was back in 1995. A few more bells and whistles, but look behind that and you see like 90% the same interface as you did when '95 was first released.
And much of the same goes for Apple... System7 vs OSX 10.7 is bells and whistles, in terms of the UI, the startstrip, the menu etc... it's very easy to see that this is still Apple, it's not an orange after now... 25? years.
While Linux... Since I started with Linux in 1997, they (various coders with different viewpoints and needs) have produced quite a few different UI's: Unity, KDE, GnOME, XFCE, LXDE, FVWM.... none of which feels the "same" as the others, and deof not "same" as in '95 vs '7, or as in System 7 vs OSX10.7

Okay, what I'm going to say:
1. Probably yes, they are different distros? 2. I'm not exactly sure, maybe your language (translated to not translated). You could look for a Ubuntu language pack though. 3. My i5 runs windows 7 with greasy performance. CPU well not be an issue here I don't think.
