While I couldn't agree more, not sure it warranted an entire topic about it. :-P

Not pointless. Humourous, with more than a touch of truth.

Still, I don't care that people copy mine - after all, I was just copying metro. What annoys me is that everyone else seems to do it so badly :(

I don't pick favorites.
This makes me want to copy hounsell's signature. I think I will!

Honestly, I feel that many of the copies should be done using Photoshop with the proper font and clean edges, not looking like paint.

I wonder if I can make a SVG signature...

Now there's an idea. I do believe I still have the Expression Design files for mine, and that can export to SVG :p

Well, darn, PHPBB doesn't like svg images...that sucks.

Doesn't mean you can't design your signature in a vector image editor though :P

I wonder why text on my signature is pixel-ish when other text on other people's is sharp and looks good.

You need to use font smoothing and antialiasing(*), which it's really apparent that you didn't.

Can you do that in GIMP?

No clue, I haven't used GIMP in years since it's inferior to Photoshop in pretty much every way. It's a pretty simple thing so I'd assume yes.

All Microsoft operating systems!
My own signature (the one for my review, obviously) is based on the Windows 8 Developer Preview (Build 8102), exclusively the Start screen in this case, however, I still need to:

1. Update it for the Consumer Preview.
2. Remove the "Official" prefix (I think that mrpijey is correct in that it is inaccurate and misleading, so in case you haven't heard, I removed it from my project's title several months ago now).

As for my review itself, I haven't been working on that project of mine for quite a while now, however, I've been considering starting it up again when we get our hands on a Release Candidate build of Windows 8 (most likely in June when the official build is planned to be released), so I should probably update my signature this week to reflect the change in plans.

So yeah, as with many people here, I also have a Metro-themed signature.

Yes, GIMP, like most open-source programs, suffers from a poor user interface.

I just took a look at the soon-to-be-released GIMP 2.3,and its UI is now very similar to Photoshop's.I guess I can now edit pictures with a truly free program, not a product trial.

Um, what? The current version of GIMP is 2.8, and it's UI looks nothing like current versions of photoshop. It's an adequate program for most people's uses, and the scripting abilities (if you know how to take advantage of them) are really powerful, but Photoshop is undoubtedly the more useful of the two, even if it is slow as heck on the same computer GIMP flies on :P

I'm gonna get in Inkscape and make me a metro lets-all-rip-off-hounsell signature... what font are you all using...?

Segoe UI Light and I used Segoe UI Semibold for the second line of text, but I think the correct font to use is Segoe UI Bold.

Look at mine, it's almost a ripoff but has some modifications.
