Hey,
I have received an offer from an acquaintance who wants £50 or £60 for his Dell Streak Mini 5 phone. It is obviously second hand and it has sustained a bit of damage (broken charging port and a few small scuff and scratches) but he is willing to throw in the battery docking station and a second "Gold Cell" extended battery. I have been looking around and it seems the phone goes for around £175 - £220 second hand online (for the phone only) and I'm impressed with specs, I'm sure its a bargin. Do you think its worth the price?

Sorta. If I were you I would look into how I could hack it first.

Thanks, thats what I thought. For some reason he thinks he is ripping me off (which is why he is reluctant) I've showed him the spec sheets and similar prices out there but he still isnt convinced. He said he'd bring it in today for me to look at, Ill hold the decision until then

Soldering irons are easy to use, so long as they have a small tip. Pure lead solder is excellent too as it lasts much longer than tin based solder. That's why electronics from the 40s still work today; lead solder.

Cool, yeah I will have to see what kind of state the charging port is in first though, he said he tried to plug the lead in when it still had the plastic protector on it and it bent the pins up, he also said he tried to repair it himself but had no luck (so it could be in any state really)
======He forgot it today, will have to see it monday===============
