So you don't like the new Ribbon UI in Windows 8 explorer?
Well I dont like it either.

There has been a way to remove ribbon from Windows 8 Explorer before removing the UiRibbon.dll file, but this isnt a quite good method of doing it because you will be unable to use MSPaint or Wordpad after you delete that file.

Now I've found another solution for the problem and here goes the tutorial. It requires some basic knoweldge already about taking ownership and etc.

So what you have to do

1. Take ownership of the ExplorerFrame.dll in your system32 folder. (you should make backup of the original file also, you might mess something up)
2. Make a copy of it to your desktop and open it with your fauvorite resource hacking program.
3. Navigate to UIFILE folder, expand the "EXPLORER_RIBBON" part and delete it (with resource hacker right-click on 1033 and
delete resource)
4. Save your new explorerframe.dll and replace it with the one found in system32.
5. Restart explorer.

Your done.

Or you could just hide the ribbon by clicking the little pointer button?

If you're not going to take advantage of one of the primary new features Windows 8 has to offer, why not just use Windows 7?

Seems pointless to me.

There are more things of value in Windows 8 than the ribbon. It is a point of view. For example, I find it "pointless" to have such a complicated menu in a mere file manager. Thank you ka-la, I'll have a look at your idea.

I think somehow complcaram life with the ribbon in descomplicaram Explorer and in another sense, and moreover, is far more ugly than the normal aero ... What I really take advantage of Windows 8 is speed, especially the boot him, and leave the start screen in the background, accessible, but in the background ...

I hate the ribbon but i like what ive used so far in Windows 8. Hopefully it releases for cheap and not some outrageous price.
