I see from a couple of prior threads that my little Windows 95 CPU fix has already been discussed here before. Darn! I feel cheated, :( haha, I can't even "contribute" my own project. :P

Anyhow, since several of you here are already familiar with it, how about some reports and feedback on how well it works with the various Beta versions of 95? (If it works?)

your fix works from builds 431 to the RTM altough the the fixed version of NDIS (only this file) works from build 314 onwards.

Bellow 189 (I think) you don't have to use it... That's all I know.

exactly, from 189 to 275, you don't need it.

Your fix of yours does not work in Memphis Build 1351. Also, some early builds of Memphis still has some Windows 95 codes and stuff (many but not exactly much Windows 95).

the fix on Memphis builds works only on one build, that is 1132.

Ok, thanks for the feedback guys. :D

Whenever I can find the time I will try to make complete list of which builds are working with it and which ones aren't. Currently I don't have very many beta versions, but I'm attempting to remedy that.

As for Memphis - the fix is/was really only designed for 95, but theoretically it should be possible to achieve the same result with Memphis as well. I'll look into it.

Sometimes,it don't work because it is on a Beta OS! I have screensaver software and really old games (I even have an DOS Game!!!) on CD and they did not work on Build 189,so I never bothered installing anything else on an Beta. Betas are fun to play around with a little!

Does anyone know specifically if the fix works on the Nashville 4.10.999 Beta? Someone on another forum is having problems with that version that seem to be related to the "NTKERN" error described in the "Known Issues" section of my ReadMe. I thought FIX95CPU would correct it for him, but no luck it seems...

Perhaps there is one beta that I really like in Windows 9x that I tested. This build is Windows Chicago Build 189. This beta was released in 1994 September. This was the first build to be called Windows 95. It can only be installed on DOS of any kind from MS-DOS 6.22.

Ummm... what?
This thread is about a community patch for Windows 95 that makes it support CPUs from 2.0 GHz and up, not about DOS games.
As far as I can tell, it works perfectly with Chicago 450.
