Were you logged in? If yes, then go to preferences > Appereance > Skin > select the skin that is marked as default, click Save. (only tested it on BA wiki because I don't have a Wikipedia account, but since they both use MediaWiki, this should work). Otherwise you could check your user stylesheet, but that's pretty unlikely.
