In VirtualBox you can change the display mode to "Scale Mode" and I really forget what it says but it says "press _____ to switch back to normal mode" and when I press it, nothing happens. I guess I'm barred so I uninstalled my CP. Oh well, I can have it back up tonight I guess.

Yeah. It's now the spot where you click to log out. I can't seem to add a regular Windows profile pic, though, which bugs me.

I downloaded the 64-bit Windows 8 CP and can't get it to install in VirtualBox. Sadness...
Try going to BIOS configurations and then check if CPU virtualization is set to ON.
Sometimes the VT function has just been disabled, thus preventing installing 64-bit OS in a virtual machine. However if it's the circumstance that the CPU doesn't support virtualization at all, then you'll probably not be able to install it.

You can change profile pics by logging into your Live account via the web interface, and clicking the edit link next to your current profile pic. Not sure how fast it'd update, but I know mine was fetched from the web upon install.

I'm just gonna run a quote from the other forum I'm on.
Quote:
The current max amount of Tiles on the metro start screen is 7 according to the registry as well as having the sad reminder of that on my 28 inch monitor that has a resolution of 1920 by 1200. After digging into the registry a little to see what I could do with it with the machine I've customized and put VI start menu on this is what I came up with. With this tweak you should be able to get more tiles on the screen at once as the default.
Set the Row count to "b" this translates to 12 on the ASCII chart. I'll use this as an example have fun with it. Ahh I love the registry its fun when you know how to edit the crap outta it.
the max seems to be 12 but you can try to go higher if you wish.

Has anyone try Windows 8 in an actual table? I was wondering about the usability of the edges, for example while playing Cut the Rope if you can trigger the smart menus?

That a good point. Trying out on an tablet will be hard due to no cd drive but of course there USB CD drive or you could install it via USB.

I'm sure the device will go into some sort of "mode" while playing one of the games so that you can't trigger it.

I'm dying to get my hands on a copy of the beta. Does anybody know how I can get a copy?
Just google Windows 8 Consumer Preview iso on google, I'd get the .iso and burn to a DVD disc and make sure you have a available partition on your HDD.
