I've seen those rumours before though. Still, they are rumours, even though the news seems to think the quote: “We have something you really have to see. And touch.” is proof, in my opinion it could be the new TV or Iphone, or even Ipod.

Apologies. Too many fake results on Google when I searched, but yeah... My point still stands, please provide the source when you post topics like this!

I don't think i'll get an iPad, but i like what Apple is doing. There's Siri on it, but i wonder if that's actually useful for blind people. On an iPhone it's logical that there's Siri for doing stuff like text messaging and calling for blind people, but where can they use Siri on iPad for? And i get that Siri can do (for not blind people) stuff like showing weather and news, but that will be a function that you proudly show to your friends, use for a few weeks and never look back at. Anyways, the iPad 3 is interesting. I wonder if it gets an iOS update.

The only Apple product I will even consider to buy is the ipod, iphone, and the mac mini. Just personal opinion here, but there are plenty of better tablets than the iPad.

Never have and never will buy an iPad. Never liked Apple before and especially not now since hearing of the working conditions of their employees in China.

mattarnster lighten up man its been overly verified there is a new ipad coming out on March 7th. Apple has even sent letters to various media outlets for the release. Now I'm willing to take a bet if you wish that there will be a new ipad coming out on the 7th. What you wanna bet in this case?
As for apple I've never cared apple products however I will say there OS is elegant.

If the conditions at Foxconn (the company who manufactures the iPhone/iPad in China) make it unconscionable for you to purchase anything they manufacture, then prepare to throw away every iPad, iPhone, Kindle, Playstation 3, Wii, and XBox 360 you own. Further, since it sounds like you're really taking a principled stand here against any company that employs Foxconn (not just the products Foxconn manufactures) you should go ahead and throw out anything made by Acer, Amazon, Apple, Cisco, Dell, HP, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Motorola, Nintendo, Nokia, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, and Visio. All of these companies use Foxconn for manufacturing, and have Foxconn employees working in conditions identical to those of the Foxconn employees who put together Apple products.
Actually, since it sounds like you've really thought this through you should probably never buy anything from Amazon again (they use Foxconn to manufacture the Kindle), refuse to use Google as your search engine (they just acquired Motorola Mobility which uses Foxconn to manufacture their android smartphones), and just unplug and send off to recycling any computer you own that has even a single Intel chip inside (Intel uses Foxconn for their motherboard fabrication).
Now that you've read this post, I imagine your keen sense of morality will dictate that you toss every piece of tech you own that has even a tangential relation to Foxconn (if you've not done so already). As such, I'll keep an eye out for your response via carrier pigeon.

Anybody know of any good Open Tablets? Like ones that run Linux and I could install anything else I wanted to install (like Windows). Never thought of this before, don't have time to google it right now. If anybody knows of one PM me about it. Thanks

The WeTab is based on an Intel Atom and you can run Windows 8 on it.
but actually you want to run a touch-optimized OS. Windows 8 would be okay, but a standard Windows or Linux desktop is horrible to use I recently aquired an HP TouchPad and run Android 4.0 on it, which works like a charm and I have a root shell and can easily install my own apks

We were talking about the iPad 3! Why is this post is about WeTab? By the way, did you jailbreak your TouchPad to run 4.0?
Anyway, Apple have released its next generation iPad. But too bad the 4G feature is only available in the US only. I have reviewed the product. Here is what I thinked about the new iPad:
Good:
A faster processor A sharper resolution A sharper 5MP Megapixel camera
Display: Retina display 9.7-inch (diagonal) LED-backlit glossy widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology 2048-by-1536-pixel resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi) Fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating Support for display of multiple languages and characters simultaneously
Processor:
Dual-core Apple A5X custom-designed, high-performance, low-power system-on-a-chip with quad-core graphics
Connectivity: Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n) Bluetooth 4.0 technology
Battery and Power: Built-in 42.5-watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer battery Up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching video, or listening to music Charging via power adapter or USB to computer system
I/O: 30-pin dock connector port 3.5-mm stereo headphone minijack Built-in speaker Microphone

It wasn't really a jailbreak in the sense, that I used some security hole to escalate my rights, it's standard functionality to boot alternate stuff via USB (like the ACMEinstaller used to load cyanogenmod) But yes, I'm running Cyanogenmod 9 Alpha 2 (Android 4.0.3) next to the preloaded webOS and actually spend most of the time running Android.

That screen resolution sounds nice and it sort of raises the question, why are computer monitors in higher resolutions still so expensive. I imagine the reason 1920x1080 monitors are so cheap is because manufacturers can use the same lcd panels in TVs so there is a larger market for them. But go above 1920x1080 and they get expensive quick.

I find myself looking a bit askance at this you guys need to compare to the other tablets on the market and not looks entirely at just apple. Saying it has a faster processor means exactly a drop in the bucket and comparing this to a desktop machine is kinda dumb honestly. Now as for computer monitors I'm trying not to facepalm your comparing a tablet computer screen to a full up LCD need I explain more why the price tag is so different.

I have ordered already and it should arrive on March 23. It will be my first iPad though I have been jumping from a lot of other Apple devices, the last being the iPhone 4. I am excited to see what good it will bring considering the hype it has been getting from a lot of fan boys and girls to the more intricate gadget reviewers. I can't wait to get my hands on them.

I have an iPad1, I paid it with a huge discount because it was a stock leftover, although sealed and brand new. I truly can't make any outstanding use of it, it is good when you move around if you have 3G, without it, seems totally useless. I have compared what I have to the new iPad 3 and, apart from the camera and the retina display, which truly is beautiful, I haven't found any reason to upgrade. 4G, also, is not supported in many European countries, which make the upgrade kind of useless. Compared to other tables, from the chinese market, maybe this iPad is phenomenal, but a netbook is still, in my humble opinion, are more viable option in many ways.

I agree, it just seems like a giant iPhone, it seems pointless.
try surfing the web on ~3,5" vs. ~10". screen size really is king and will continue to be.
nobody would really consider spending some hours surfing on the couch at home with his iPhone instead of his laptop, but with a tablet you can do that.
